UK Entrepreneurs | Target Market for International Trade | We Day UK

New Barclays report: Britain leads the way for entrepreneurs

According to the latest report by Barclays and the Business Growth Fund (BGF), released on Monday 30 March, one in 11 people in Britain aged 18 to 64 are currently running or starting a business.

The number of active companies in the UK reached more than 3.1 million in December 2014, an increase of 3.7 per cent since June 2014.

Featured case studies include maternity fashion retailer Seraphine, whose founder Cecile Reinaud emphasises how important (and straightforward!) it is for British brands to go global: “We’ve been able to really take advantage of the fact that the UK is an international platform for ecommerce and shopping.”

Find your ideal target market for international trade

As a British business, you’re in an ideal position to expand your international customer base: the Budget included additional measures for helping exporters and just last week we highlighted growing international demand for UK goods in the food and beverage sector.

To grow in new markets, it’s essential to know where your product is likely to sell best – and this needs to be an informed decision. To help you with the process, we’ve developed a concise overview for identifying additional countries where your products can succeed. For example, you can make plans for overcoming common obstacles if you know what they are beforehand!

The story behind We Day 2015

As the official logistics partner for We Day UK 2015, we were delighted to take a team of volunteers to support this fantastic youth empowerment event earlier this year.

Our team provided shipping and logistics support throughout the event, and packaged the attendees’ gift bags. On the day itself they sold We Day merchandise and looked after the attendees, making sure they had everything they needed.

You can see the team in action and find out more about We Day UK 2015 in our new video, which captures the excitement of the event.
