Trading with China | E-commerce spending up | Exporting is GREAT

Chinese exports increase past expectations

China’s exports rose 2.3 per cent during the past year. Although forecasts projected a fall in exports, this is the first time exports have risen since June 2015.

Given recent fluctuations in China’s economy, this news should inspire traders to have more confidence in the market.

As the world’s largest exporter and the UK’s third largest import partner, China has vast experience in producing products quickly, cost-effectively and in large quantities. This offers immense trade opportunities for British businesses who are looking to source materials.

Online spending increases 7.4 per cent in December

According to research from Visa Europe, e-commerce sales rose 7.4 per cent in December 2015.

“Consumer spending rose solidly last month as retailers benefited from the traditional spending surges in the days just before and after Christmas,” said Kevin Jenkins, UK & Ireland Managing Director at Visa Europe.

E-commerce is making it easier than ever for British businesses to reach customers around the world. As mobile, tablet and other online spending grows, delivery times and click & collect options are making more of an impact on how consumers choose to shop.
