UK vaccine exports triple
New data from HMRC shows that the UK exports of vaccines reached £3.2 billion in 2018, which is more than any other G7 economy and third highest in the world. Demand from the US has been the main driver with exports there increasing rapidly from £449.3 million in 2013, to £2.2 billion in 2018.

Game of Thrones capitalises on British exports
The hugely popular HBO series, Game of Thrones (GoT), has drawn influence from UK products, talents and locations. The popularity of the exports reflects a wider increase in the success of Britain’s creative industries and cultural exports. Since 2017, UK creative industries contribute over £100 billion a year to the economy, an increase of 53 per cent since 2010.
Many of the most famous locations in Westeros, the imaginary continent the action takes place on, were filmed in Northern Ireland. GoT and other TV series are now generating around £180 million a year to Belfast alone.Read more
Quarterly International Trade Outlook for Q1 2019 is released
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), in partnership with DHL Express, has produced its Quarterly International Trade Outlook (QITO) covering January to March 2019. The QITO report is designed to give British businesses a better understanding of dynamic new markets and the international opportunities they create.
The findings indicate a decrease in orders from UK exporters in the opening quarter of the year, with UK exporters reporting cashflow and confidence dipping too. However, the BCC expects UK exports to grow by 1.8 per cent in 2019 and 1.7 per cent in 2020.Find out more
