New UK-Kenya strategic partnership

Last week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with the Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta, to agree a new strategic partnership. They aim to develop new investment and trade opportunities, support businesses and create jobs.

Prime Minister Johnson and President Kenyatta said in a joint statement: “The UK and Kenya already benefit from close economic ties and under the first pillar – mutual prosperity – we will increase their breadth and strength, boosting growth and improving living standards.”

Fifth of UK retail to be conducted online by 2024

With British spending habits continuing to shift from bricks and mortar shops to online outlets, new data has predicted a spending rise of over 30.4 per cent between 2019-2024, hitting £85 billion. This will account for 19.8 per cent of all retail spend.

Sofie Willmott, lead retail analyst at GlobalData, said: “Clothing specialists continue to develop their online proposition, […] driving online conversion and giving shoppers another reason to choose the online channel over stores.”
