6.5 million UK jobs supported by exports

New research commissioned by the Department for International Trade estimates that nearly 6.5 million jobs in the UK are supported by exports and job roles linked to exports are around 7% higher paying.

This new research is accompanied by a Board of Trade report called Global Britain, Local Jobs; this details a number of policy fixes being made to unlock the UK’s full exporting potential and advocates for deeper trade ties with faster growing nations outside the EU.
