Joint statement on UK-Australia trade talks
Trade talks have been ongoing between the UK and Australia. Last Friday they had agreed on the majority of the details around a comprehensive free trade deal, with both countries confident that the remaining issues can be resolved ahead of an agreement in principle by June.

UK economy ‘set to grow at fastest rate on record’
Experts have reviewed their initial predictions for GDP growth in the UK and now forecast that the economy is set to grow by 6.8% – its fastest growth since 1973. Initially forecasters expected the economy to grow by 5%.
Coronavirus restrictions were instrumental in the economy shrinking by 9.9% this year, but according to Ian Stewart, chief economist at Deloitte, “High levels of saving, the successful vaccination rollout and the easing of the lockdown set the stage for a surge in spending over the coming months.”Find out more
