Trade rises with one year to go until Brexit
With one year to go until the UK’s departure from the European Union, newly released trade figures reveal exports of UK goods and services is at a record high.
Data released from the Office for National Statistics shows that in 2017, UK goods and exports increased faster than imports, up 12.1 per cent to £622.2 billion. The rise was due to demand for manufactured goods and UK business services.
The International Trade Secretary said: “UK exports of goods and services have increased over the year and the UK deficit on trade in goods and services narrowed significantly.”Learn more
UK industry in USA and Canada
This week, International Trade Secretary, Dr Liam Fox met with some of the most successful businesses in Canada and the USA to promote building relationships with companies as well as government officials.
The digital sector accounted for more than £32 billion of UK exports in services in 2015, the secretary endorsed modernising global trade rules around e-commerce as many of the relevant World Trade Organisation rules around the digital economy have not been updated for 2 decades.

E-commerce is transforming B2B
DHL Express and Cranfield School of Management recently investigated the potential of the international e-commerce landscape for B2B companies.
