PM appoints new Trade Envoys to boost trade and investment

Last week Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the appointment of two new Trade Envoys – assigned to Angola and Zambia, and Tunisia and Libya. Both MPs will be tasked with building on the existing trading relationships with these growing economies.

As of October 2021, trade between the UK and these countries was worth over £2.5 billion in total (£430 million with Tunisia, £874 million with Angola, £165 million with Zambia and £1.1 billion with Libya).

“Our Trade Envoys continue to play a vital role in building relationships and promoting trade with key markets around the world” says Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Secretary of State for International Trade.
