UK trade with Vietnam
Last week Exports Minister Baroness Fairhead spoke at the UK-Vietnam Business Forum. The theme of the event was Vietnam rising, and the facts couldn’t support this enough. PWC predicts that in two years Vietnam will be one of the World’s 20 biggest economies – that’s a market the size of Argentina, Switzerland or Saudi Arabia.
Vietnam is buying ever more high-quality consumer goods; to take advantage of opportunities like this, the Department of International Trade has a dedicated team on the ground to help businesses navigate local markets and help make connections. There is also development funding with up to £2 billion set aside to help export financing.Find out more
UK-US international trade day
International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox hosted a series of events to strengthen trade ties with the US this week. These come following the announcement that the US intends to begin negotiations towards a UK-US Free Trade Agreement after the UK leaves the EU.
Dr Liam Fox said: “The United States is one of our closest allies, our largest single bilateral trading partner and we will see that bond continue to strengthen as we leave the European Union.”Read more
