Government announces new Board of Trade
The Department of International Trade announced that there will be a new board of senior advisory figures to the Board of Trade. The Board members are set to meet quarterly using their influence to help the government make a stronger global consensus for free trade.
Secretary of State for International Trade, Liz Truss said: “The new Board of Trade will play an important role in helping Britain make the case for free and fair trade across the UK and around the world.”

Globally renowned brand, Lego, defying the odds as the toy industry slumps
Lego, the infamous toy brand loved by people of all ages, has defied the industry slump by recording increased sales and profits in the first half of this year; recording double-digit revenue percentages in Asia, western Europe and the US.
Chief Executive of Lego, Niels Christiansen claims the success is due to investing in the brand’s website and online store. “COVID-19 has brought acceleration with e-commerce. What would have taken one, two or three years has gone much faster.”

How Black Friday and Christmas will be impacted by a post-COVID world
With many retailers already introducing Christmas lines, shoppers and businesses alike are anticipating a drastic shift in consumer shopping. A study has shown that half of US shoppers believe the pandemic will affect the way they holiday shop this year. Similarly, more than a third of US shoppers who normally shop in-store for Black Friday have said they won’t this year.
It is anticipated that shopping for these two major calendar events will see an uplift of online orders by almost 20% in the US alone. This is likely to see a boom for e-commerce businesses.
