Growing export opportunities in the Caribbean
New analysis of HMRC data by the Department of International Trade shows that the UK exported £1.2 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2019 to the Caribbean Community, an increase of 76.1 per cent from the four quarters to the end of Q1 2018.
Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Latin America and the Caribbean, Joanna Crellin, said: “The Caribbean is an excellent entry point for SME exporters, offering opportunities covering a wide range of sectors from food and drink, healthcare, to security and defence.”Read more
Quarterly International Trade Outlook for Q2 2019 is released
The British Chambers of Commerce, in partnership with DHL Express, has produced its Quarterly International Trade Outlook (QITO) covering April to June 2019. The QITO report is designed to give British businesses a better understanding of dynamic new markets and the international opportunities they create.
The findings indicate that the balance of exporting manufacturers reporting their international sales increased stood at +14 per cent, down from +24 per cent in the same quarter last year. It also reports that 63 per cent of manufacturing exporters are more concerned about exchange rates than in the previous three months.See more
