Winner announced for DHL Award for International Fashion Potential 2018
After strong deliberation during a tough judging panel at London Fashion Week on Monday, we’re delighted to announce that the winner of this year’s DHL Award for International Fashion Potential 2018 is HADES, a classic British knitwear brand.
The brand, represented by sisters Cassie and Isabel Holland, walked away with a £20,000 grant to help develop their international offering alongside mentoring from the British Fashion Council and DHL’s e-commerce specialists.Find out more
G20 trade ministers call to invigorate international trade
On 14 September, International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox attended the G20 trade and investment meeting in Argentina.
He said: “I welcomed the opportunity to discuss important trade issues with my ministerial colleagues from the G20 – and the statement we agreed calls for keeping markets open, addressing economic development and reinvigorating the international trading system.”
The International Trade Secretary also raised the important issue of World Trade Organisation (WTO) modernisation and the importance of continuing to work together as the G20 to ensure the WTO is ready to tackle current trade tensions effectively.Find out more
US and UK reaffirm ambition to boost trade relationship
UK Trade Policy Minister George Hollingbery and Deputy US Trade Representative Jeffrey Gerrish met in London to reaffirm a shared ambition to boost the US-UK trade relationship.
George Hollingbery said: “Our joint Trade and Investment Working Group has made good progress in laying the groundwork for […] negotiation and helping our businesses grow their exports.”
Discussions included a range of US-UK trade issues, review of progress made so far and reducing barriers to trade such as tariffs.Read more
