Britain launches negotiations with Pacific free trade area

This week the UK began negotiations to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), a free trade pact involving 11 other countries with a joint GDP of £9 trillion and a population of half a billion people.
