Brexit Deal – main points of agreement
Last Thursday, Theresa May was in Brussels to seal the deal on an agreement that the government hopes will now push the Brexit process forward to the next stage. The European Commission agreed that sufficient progress had been made for the UK and EU to start discussing their future relationship.

A document has been comprised and sets out key points such as ensuring the rights of EU citizens in the UK and UK citizens in the EU. The agreement also promised that there will be no hard Irish border but it is yet to be made clear how an open border will function.

   
 
 
 
International Trade minister holds UK-Qatar trade talks
Last week, International Trade Minister, Greg Hands, held talks with the Qatari Minister of Economy and Commerce, HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim al Thani.

The meeting discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral trade ties following a commitment made by the Qatari Prime Minister in March to invest an additional £5 billion across the UK over the next three to five years.

Greg Hands said: “As an international economic department, we are committed to building a long and fruitful trading partnership with Qatar over the coming months.”
