Agreement boosts British trade with Australia
An arrangement boosting British trade with Australia will continue even after the UK leaves the EU, supporting jobs in both countries. The Mutual Recognition on Conformity Assessment (MRA) was signed by the International Trade Secretary and the Australian High Commissioner to the UK last week. The signing will ensure UK and Australian businesses can continue to benefit from existing arrangements.
On top of this, both countries have committed to seeking a new comprehensive free trade agreement that will allow UK and Australian companies to enjoy an even closer trading relationship after the UK leaves the European Union.Learn more
‘Companies to Inspire Africa 2019’ report is launched
London Stock Exchange Group launched the second edition of its ‘Companies to Inspire Africa’ report, celebrating some of Africa’s most dynamic growth businesses. The report identifies 360 companies from 32 countries across the African Continent.
International Development Secretary, Penny Mordaunt, highlighted that this is a win for both Africa and the UK. “Africa is going through a period of enormous change. Five of the world’s fastest-growing economies are African and by 2050 a quarter of the world’s population will live there. This growth presents unique opportunities for us all.”See more
