Think tank Brexit proposition | UK-China golden era | Ecommerce & GDPR

Think tank, IPPR, proposes a post-Brexit trading deal
The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is the UK’s leading progressive think tank. They have proposed the creation of a trade deal based on a ‘shared market’ between the UK and EU. This shared market model would hope to keep the benefits of a single market while allowing variance from EU rules over time.
According to IPPR Director Tom Kibasi it “honours the referendum result” while safeguarding Britain’s economic interests. The think tank has suggested that the EU would also benefit from the scale of the UK‘s economy in future trade negotiations.

Golden Era for UK-China relations
At the end of last week Chancellor Phillip Hammond held talks with the Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai, during which both countries reaffirmed their commitment to developing a global partnership.
The Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) involved events promoting the UK’s world-leading expertise in trade and financial services. The Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney and the CEO of London Stock Exchange plc, were also in attendance.
What will GDPR mean for ecommerce
As of 25 May 2018, your business has to be compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This new EU regulation is designed to give individuals more rights over their data and will apply to any company in Europe and those who do business inside the EU.
So how will this affect ecommerce businesses? The GDPR applies to all databases, marketing, sales, HR and accounting; if you store or process data your business will be affected.
