Support for UK home-run businesses | Middle East | DHL Paperless Trade

UK government pledges support for businesses run from home

Not only are 70 per cent of all new businesses started from home – an astounding 2.9 million businesses in the UK are currently home-run. To address the unique advantages but also challenges home-based entrepreneurs face, Enterprise Nation organised the inaugural Home Business Summit at Somerset House in London on 15 August.

Speakers included Prime Minister David Cameron who emphasised: “[Supporting home businesses] is not a tangent to our long-term economic plan. It is a very key part of our long-term economic plan.” New government legislation will further help home-run businesses overcome challenges – such as making it easier to run a business from a rented home.

Enterprise Nation has also launched a new Home Business Survey to further understand the influence and specific needs of this segment of entrepreneurs.

Less waste, more haste: DHL Paperless Trade
