Does the sun always shine on the Spanish market?

Spain is the fifth largest economy in the European Union, and with a population of almost 47 million it’s also one of the biggest consumer markets. Spain is already one of the UK’s major trading partners, so if you’re not considering it as a potential export market for your products it might be time to rethink.

As the UK’s 7th largest trading partners, total UK exports to Spain amounted to £18.1 billion in the year ended June 2019. This is an increase of 1.4 per cent when compared to the previous year. There is definitely a demand for UK goods and services in Spain which UK businesses looking for new markets could definitely take advantage of.

Spain ranks 30th in terms of ease of doing business, providing a large consumer base for UK exporters to sell to. Spain’s familiarity with British products as well as efficient transport systems and access to Latin America are just some of the country’s benefits for British exporters.
