Record rise in exports | E-commerce in India | DHL Box Challenge

UK exports
Goods exports rise to three-year high
 

The Office for National Statistics has announced a trade deficit of £3.294 billion in April. This is the lowest level since September 2015, and is likely due to stronger exports and industrial output.

The value of goods exports increased by 11.2 per cent, which is the highest rise since 1998.

In addition, Howard Archer, Chief UK Economist at HIS Global Insight, suggested that UK GDP growth "could be holding up better in the second quarter than has been thought."

India’s e-commerce market on the rise
 

According to the Internet and Mobile Association of India and IMRB, India’s e-commerce market is predicted to nearly double to Rs 2,11,005 crore (£221 million) by December 2016.

The market grew 30 per cent between December 2011 and December 2015, with the online travel industry accounting for 63 per cent of the overall share. Apparel and footwear sales almost doubled compared to the previous year, and are expected to gain further momentum by the end of 2016.
