Introducing Crawford Falconer | BCC and DIHK unite | Ecom email marketing

Crawford Falconer starts as Chief Trade Negotiation Adviser
Last week Secretary of State, Dr Liam Fox, welcomed the new Chief Trade Negotiation Adviser for the Department for International Trade (DIT).
Crawford Falconer has over 25 years of experience and is an internationally recognised trade expert. As a dual national of New Zealand and the UK, his new position follows a long career at the heart of New Zealand’s Foreign Office where he served as Deputy Secretary for International Trade and Foreign affairs, as well as an Ambassador to the World Trade Organisation.
As Chief Trade Negotiation Adviser and Second Permanent Secretary, Crawford will be the UK government’s expert on trade negotiation and strategy, and serve as an ambassador for DIT.

German and UK firms unite over business-friendly Brexit negotiations
In a joint statement, the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) said that both German and British companies are calling for clarity on the overall final settlement.
There are hundreds of practical matters that need to be resolved during the later stages of negotiation, however, businesses in Germany and the UK want to see talks shift focus on to these subjects more quickly.
Both associations urged EU negotiators to focus on the countries’ shared economic interests, in particular issues such as Customs and tax procedures. Britain is the third-largest destination for German goods exports and Germany is Britain’s second-largest goods and services export market.
