South Korean economic growth at five-year high

South Korea’s economy grew by 2.6 per cent in Q3 2015, an increase of 1.2 per cent on the second quarter and the highest quarter-on-quarter growth in five years for the country. This growth is likely to be due to an increase in consumer spending, according to the central Bank of Korea (BOK).

The 2011 EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is estimated to be worth over £500 million a year to UK businesses. As the fourth largest economy in Asia, the country is a designated high-growth market for UK exports and offers plenty of opportunities for UK SMEs looking to expand overseas.
