What makes this famously efficient economy tick?

As Europe’s largest economy and with 9.8 per cent of UK exports already going there, Germany is an extremely attractive place to do business. If you are looking to export to foreign markets, Germany should certainly be a strong contender on your list. With a reputation for precision and structure, quality products and strong business relationships are often prioritised over price.

As Western Europe’s second-largest e-commerce market, retail e-commerce sales are expected to surpass €69 billion by the end of 2019. Mobile buying is growing quicker than any other shopping platform, at an estimated annual growth rate of 12 per cent in 2019.

But there’s still more room for m-commerce to expand, with mobile purchases accounting for just 40 per cent of digital retail sales.

Germany ranked 22nd on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business ranking, and the nation is seeing a year-on-year increase in cross-border purchases. The most popular countries Germany is buying from online are China, UK, US and France. Motivation for shopping abroad is better product availability, appealing offers and better condition of products.
