International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox said: “The festival will be a major showcase for the UK in the Middle East, and a shop window for the best of our creativity and innovation.”
Expo 2020 Dubai takes place between 20 October 2020 and 10 April 2021; 180 nations will take part and there is an expected footfall of 25 million visitors.

DHL supports an agenda for values-led trade for the Commonwealth
Over the last six months DHL has supported an inquiry into how the Commonwealth could help developing countries trade out of poverty. Steven Pope at DHL was invited by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Trade Out of Poverty to serve as a Committee Member.
The final findings of the report have been published ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018, which will take place in London on 16 April. Key topics for the 2018 summit include harnessing trade to build a more prosperous world and continuing to protect and promote the shared values of the commonwealth.
The inquiry report deals extensively with the importance of improving trade facilitation by implementing the World Trade Organisation’s Trade Facilitation Agreement, getting ready for e-commerce and expanding intra-Commonwealth trade and investment. To read the full report see the link below.
Find your e-commerce tribe
Many startup e-commerce companies can be put off exporting abroad due to potentially costly licenses and fees. However, contrary to common belief most goods don’t require any such licence; the barriers to entry really are lower than you might imagine.
The most important factor is to find your tribe – your target market. Read about a unique musical instrument retailer, Quest Musique, and find out why international demand in Australia and New Zealand led them to cater to international sales.
