E-commerce trends | UK Gov helps export music | More UK SMEs exporting

How has e-commerce changed the way we live?

By 2020, China is predicted to become the world’s largest market for e-commerce activities, and the import and export opportunities are huge.

The industry itself is undergoing rapid growth, as more consumers embrace online shopping and customer expectations evolve.

In the Delivering Tomorrow blog, DHL eCommerce CEO Charles Brewer highlights some of the latest e-commerce trends.

UK Government to support music exports

The Department for International Trade (DIT) has re-launched the Music Export Growth Scheme (MEGS) in partnership with the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) to help British acts export their music to overseas markets.

The UK is the second largest exporter of music in the world. Delivered through the Exporting is GREAT campaign, music SMEs will be eligible for grants to help them go global.

Exporting your business to the world

The number of UK SMEs trading internationally has almost doubled during the past year, according to Bibby Financial Services. 15 per cent of SMEs invested in export activity in Q3 2016, compared to the 8 per cent recorded in Q3 2015.

Global chief executive for Bibby Financial Services David Postings said, “there’s more that can be done by both the public and private sector to help SMEs find growth opportunities overseas.”
