Top tips for growing your business online

As clever marketing moves from transactional campaigns to a more relationship based strategy, it’s never been more important to review how you’re communicating with your online customers.

Last week, we attended the Growth Hacking for E-commerce event, hosted by General Assembly and Shopify, where Gavin Ballard from Disco shared his top tips for growing your e-commerce business.

Chancellor visits Beijing in bid to boost trade and investment

George Osborne has visited China this week to boost investment in the UK and develop strong trade links between the two countries.

Speaking at an event for high-tech companies, Osborne said China is “a massive source of global growth going forward” and “there is no economy in the West that is as open to Chinese investment as the United Kingdom”.

Whilst China is currently the sixth biggest export market for the UK, the country is the UK’s third largest import partner and the world’s largest exporter.

Technology attracts global investors to UK

As digital capabilities increase and businesses are turning more to technology to help them go global, the UK is becoming a major market for technology investment.

The UK has been ranked in the top 20 countries for technology in the Grant Thornton Global Dynamism Index &#8211 a report which highlights the potential for business growth in each market.

In addition, 70 per cent of foreign investors who are either already doing business in the UK or looking to expand here, see the UK as a key market. Robert Hannah, COO at Grant Thornton UK, highlighted that “the UK offers an attractive gateway into mainland Europe”.
