Online retail customer experience study

According to new research from RichRelevance, 95 per cent of UK shoppers will leave a retail site if they get unsatisfactory search results.

Common site search problems faced by customers include irrelevant product results, inability to find the right product, site search not recognising terminology or phrasing, a poor search interface, slow loading results, and no product images.

Women lead mobile commerce boom

A recent Worldpay study highlights the impact of online retail on consumer shopping habits. British women are more likely to use a mobile phone or tablet to do their shopping, whilst men are more likely to use a desktop or laptop computer.

“Our findings reveal that it is women who are responsible for driving the early success of the mobile e-commerce boom. Fashion retailers in particular have been quick to capitalise on female mobile shoppers, with over 60 per cent of mobile traffic coming from the fashion industry alone,” said Maria Prados, VP Global Retail at Worldpay.
