Directory of Exporters set to launch in November 2016

The UK’s five largest banks are working with the new Department for International Trade to develop a Directory of Exporters, which is expected to revolutionise the way businesses can access international markets.

“We want to help UK businesses scale up and take advantage of the global appetite for British goods and services, as well as to demonstrate that there has never been a better time for international companies to partner with UK suppliers,” said Secretary of State for International Trade, Dr Liam Fox.


Email marketing linked to increased sales

Almost a third of retailers have found that more customers are making a purchase within 48 hours of signing up for marketing emails. A further quarter of retailers saw customers buy within a week of email sign-up.

We’ve previously discussed how important it is for international exporters to have a strong email strategy. It’s definitely an effective channel for retailers to increase their reach and drive sales, and it can also support customer retention too.


B2C e-commerce in APAC: the rise of apparel

The ‘Asia-Pacific Clothing B2C E-Commerce Market 2016’ report from has revealed that apparel is the leading online and mobile retail category in Asia-Pacific.

According to the report, online channels accounted for more than 10 per cent of total retail sales of clothing in South Korea, whilst India saw over 50 per cent growth last year.

Ystats believes India is expected to overtake Japan as the second largest online retail market for apparel in Asia-Pacific by 2020.
