New scheme in place to help digital firms
Mayor of London helps digital firms export

Boris Johnson launched a new International Business Programme this week to help digital companies expand internationally. The scheme offers 50 fast-growing companies the opportunity to join trade missions to the US, India, China and Europe.

“Only 10 per cent of UK small and medium-sized businesses are trading internationally, but 40 per cent want to export, so we know the appetite is there,” said Unruly founder Sarah Wood, who also supports the programme.

As the UK’s leading trade hub, London’s export market is worth over £140 billion to the UK economy.

UKTI Export Hub gathers momentum

UKTI’s Export Hub is touring the UK to give practical advice about trading internationally to British businesses. The custom-built truck includes space for seminars and meetings, as well as a Skype room for holding video chats with international trade advisors.

The Export Hub is part of the UK government’s five-year international trade initiative: Exporting is GREAT, aimed at inspiring 100,000 new exporters across the UK.

The truck will tour local events and city centres around the UK until October 2016. Our latest blog outlines how the Export Hub works and how British businesses can benefit from visiting.
