Last week, 77 designers from around the world descended on the UK to showcase their AW14 collections at London Fashion Week. Exhibiting on the global stage, it’s estimated that orders of over £100m are placed during LFW each season, with over £65m of orders coming internationally.*
As Official Logistics Partner to IMG Fashion Week events around the globe, DHL helps the world’s top designers put their best feet forward. And this year, we’re going one step further. Launched at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York in January, IMG Fashion and DHL unveiled DHL Exported: Delivering Designers Around the Globe – a scheme to support the fashion industry worldwide, helping designers who are already established in their local market to further their reach globally.
Fashion designers who are receiving traction outside their native country will have the chance to get access to a global marketplace and the formula to a successful launch by debuting their collection on the runway of their choice in New York, London, Milan or Tokyo.
Four designers will be selected by DHL to be sponsored for two consecutive seasons at each of the four Fashion Weeks, and receive a guaranteed spot on the schedule with a funded and produced runway show. What’s more, DHL will also as export the collection to New York, London, Milan or Tokyo for the designers’ runway debut.
The competition closes April 2, 2014. Find out more on www.dhlexported.com and don’t be fashionably late in getting your applications in!
