On Sunday 26 February, the 2017 Sunday Times SME Export Track 100 league table was announced ranking the UK’s top 100 private small and medium-sized companies with the fastest growing international sales.
 
Ian Wilson, CEO of DHL Express UK and Ireland, writes “for online retailers, doing the simple things well has given a huge boost to exports.”

BCC publishes its Brexit Business Priorities report
 
On Tuesday the British Chambers of Commerce published its Brexit Business Priorities report as a guideline for the UK government in its EU negotiations.
 
Titled Business Brexit Priorities, the report synthesizes feedback from over 400 businesses at 16 Chamber-hosted focus groups, along with nearly 20,000 responses to Chamber surveys. It puts forward priorities for action across seven key areas where business communities want practical solutions and certainty.

China’s economic growth to remain strong
 
China International Capital Corp, a leading securities brokerage house, has forecast that GDP will expand by 6.8 per cent this year and the yuan is set to steady against the dollar.
 
They wrote “investment has been gaining speed and the rebound cycle may last longer than previous expectations.” The Chinese government will release economic indicators for the first two months of the year in the next few days to build a clearer picture.
