Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of China since 1997, is a global hub for financial services. With a strong free trade policy, Hong Kong is also an important conduit for business with mainland China.

The former British colony has continued its close relationship with the UK: over 300 British companies have regional headquarters or offices in Hong Kong and the governments work together closely on financial service regulation and low-carbon growth.
